Our Story
PneuProject is named from the Greek pneuma which means breath, wind, spirit and is used throughout the New Testament to describe the Holy Spirit.
PneuProject began in 2011 to launch a creative church that just keeps launching...launching churches, launching groups, and launching people toward faith in Jesus.
PneuProject is unique in its perspective on the Christian faith. It is forged from the life experiences of its servant leadership. Marissa, Founder, is a former scientific atheist who studied biochemistry and philosophy. She does not mince words about the failings of her life and the obvious and undeserved difference faith and blessing Jesus has created for her and her family. She is also an artist and musician, inviting people to explore and celebrate the creative gifts God gives and blesses. Her professional background is in staff management and organizational leadership, and since devoting her life to Jesus, she has planted several worshiping communities that share Jesus with people who do not have church home.
Chris Baker, INK 180, leads a ministry of ink and education that transforms painful reminders of people's past into something beautiful.
Kyle Singleton, Minister of Discipleship and Lead Pastor of Big Life Community Church, shares how Biblical study is transformative into lives of grace, difference-making, and passion for the Gospel.
Joyce Peltz, Founder, Girls of Grace felt the Lord leading her increasingly towards a missionary focus, serving the least in the community and empowering women to seek Jesus in new and creative and mission focused ways.
PneuProject ministries knock down barriers and invite people to pursue a relationship with Jesus. Big Life Community Church, PneuProject's local congregation, launched in May of 2012 and offers a weekly worship opportunity to consider faith in Jesus in a simple and reverent worship environment that is framed with the PneuProject message that God is for everyone. Children play in the space, food and coffee is served each week, and the informal and grace-saturated experience hopes to invite people to consider following Jesus more fully towards his promise of abundant life.
PneuProject's Tattoo Mission Ministry, INK 180, is a ministry that removes and covers tattoos and scars of painful past experiences like gang involvement, human trafficking, and self-harm scars with something beautiful.
PneuProject's Mission Ministry, Girls of Grace, serves the least among their community with food and need supply as well as creative opportunities to gather women and celebrate God's gifts.
PneuProject's Apostles Ministry and Discipleship Ministries equip believers, servants, and teachers with the tools to preach and lead for life change in following Jesus through worship Bible teaching, Men's groups, Midweek teaching and Small groups.
PneuProject's Artisan Markets empower artisans to share their faith and gifts with the community and helps support the ministry of PneuProject.
